I painted this Minoan Snake Goddess as a commissioned portrait of Le'ema Kathleen Graham.
The model for this illustration is a marvelous glazed ceramic figurine from 1600 B.C.E. Crete. Archaeologists know little else about this particular Goddess. The original artifact is on display at the Herakleion Archeological Museum in Crete.
